Pioneering the Future of Audit- AIS Faculty Complete High-Impact East Asia Research Tour
The Rutgers Continuous Auditing & Reporting Lab (CAR Lab) is proud to highlight the successful completion of an influential East Asia research outreach tour led by Professor Miklos Vasarhelyi and our Accounting Information Systems (AIS) faculty!
The tour presented cutting-edge insights on the convergence of artificial intelligence, corporate reporting, and continuous assurance, expanding academic and industry dialogue across major research hubs in China and South Korea.
đ Advancing AI, Autonomous Governance, and Continuous Assurance
The journey commenced on October 16 in Chengdu, China, at the 74th World Continuous Auditing and Reporting Symposium, hosted by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). Expanding the dialogue across leading institutions, Prof. Vasarhelyi delivered keynotes on "Continuous AI-Based Reporting, Monitoring, and Assurance" at:
Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) (Zhuhai, China â October 19)
LG AI Research (Seoul, South Korea â October 20)
University of Seoul (Seoul, South Korea â October 23)
The lecture series examined how corporate oversight is transitioning toward real-time, autonomous paradigms. Central to the discussion was the deployment of intelligent AI Agents capable of continuous data collection, anomaly detection, and risk early-warning support. Beyond technical capabilities, the presentations tackled vital governance questions surrounding algorithmic transparency, reliability, and evolving human-AI collaboration models in modern auditing.
