Danielle Lombardi

I graduated from The College of New Jersey in May 2003 with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and minor in Criminology and Justice Studies.  After graduation I began full time work for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (“PwC”).  I worked there for two years in the audit and assurance practice in specializing in technology, information, communications, and entertainment industries.   After two years I left PwC to pursue a career at J.H. Cohn, LLP in the audit practice specializing in the retail and manufacturing industries.  There I received two early promotions and left after three years as an audit manager to enter the Ph. D program at Rutgers. 

 In the summer of 2006 I co-authored and presented a research paper titled “Auditor Independence in the 20^th Century: A Textbook Perspective” at the Eleventh World Congress of Accounting Historians in Nantes, France and at the American Accounting Association annual conference in Washington, D.C.  That paper was published by the Accounting Historian’s Journal in 2009.  Since, I have presented various papers at the following conferences: Annual AAA (2009 & 2010), Mid-Atlantic AAA (2009 & 2010), GAOC (2010), WCARS (2008 & 2009), and ICESAL (2009).  Currently have two working papers focused on the future of audit and am working on my dissertation regarding auditor judgment and decision making.
