Info. On Developing Performance Measurers
I am an administrative assistant for the Assistant Director (Technical) for
the Division of Design and Construction, Office of Administration. I am
helping the Assistant Director with research on the development of methods
to actually measure performance within our office.
As one of eight divisions with the Office of Administration (State of
Missouri), the state's administrative and control office, we are responsible
for construction at state facilities, other than institutions of higher
education, state roads and highways, and conservation facilities.
The Division of Design and Construction develops and reviews plans and
specifications, selects consulting architects and engineers, conducts
in-house design and contracts for construction, manages design and
construction projects, and provides guidelines and information for and
oversees the expenditures of capital improvement appropriations.
Our main interest is in documented criteria used for performance measurers
on project management for public projects. We have approximately 30 project
managers that manage consultant designed accomplishments. Any criteria used
to evaluate project managers on these types of projects would be very
helpful. Currently, we use Primavera P3 for our design and construction
scheduling and Prolog for project management activities. As a result, we
have a fairly good handle on budget and schedule, but don't have much of the
efficiency and effectiveness of design reviews, construction inspection or
individual projects management.
I am interested in participating in the discussion forum on developing and
choosing performance measurers as mentioned above but unclear as to how to
participate in this discussion. Any assistance you could give me would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
