Hi everyone. No virus warnings this time :-).
Just an announcement from the American Society for Public Administration which
I thought might interest the list.

John Kamensky has agreed to write an online column addressing managing for
results for ASPA.
We posted his first column a few minutes ago. I have pasted a summary
below. You can read the full column by visiting http://www.aspanet.org

We welcome you to spread the word!!!

What is "Managing for Results?"
by John Kamensky
I first heard the phrase "managing for results" while a member of a
General Accounting Office team examining the management reform
experiences of the Australian government in 1992. I can't recall if it
was ever defined, but the term has become more commonplace in the US in
the past decade. I'd like to begin my career as an ASPA e-columnist by
offering a definition of the phrase based on my government experience.
I'll then use this definition over the coming months to write a series
of related columns from a practitioner's point of view.
